The density of the turbulator can be infinitely varied to suit the liquid or gas flowing through the tube to promote maximum turbulence and heat transfer coefficient with a minimum loss of pressure. This enables the designer to economise on the length, diameter and number of tubes required in each installation and allows flow pump sizes to be downsized.

MWC turbulators are manufactured with a small eye at one end to assist the pulling into the tube and a tail is left on the opposite end to allow joining when tubes over 3 metres are involved. We can of course modify these standard designs should customers requirements justify non-standard developments.

MWC turbulators are manufactured to grip tightly to the inner wall of the tubes and with normal flows of liquid or gas will require no fixing. This also allows the added flexibility of easy removal where tubeside cleaning and maintenance are economic considerations. However, should the customer require the ideal compromise between ultimate heat transfer performance and fluid pressure drop then the turbulator can be bonded inside the tube.

Current production turbulators are manufactured from zinc coated carbon steel, stainless steel and copper wires but should you require any other metal we will consider the possibilities.

Our manufacturing capability allows lengths from 30 cm - 5 metres to be accommodated easily with the option of joining far longer lengths and for inside tube diameters from 8 mm - 38mm. Special orders for sizes outside of this range can also be considered.
