Central to this development is their participation with Aston University in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Project, partly funded with the Department of Trade and Industry.

The project team is led by John Rogers, who has been involved with the design and development of turbulence promoters, as well as heat exchanger design, for over 30 years.

John is joined by Dr Nazar Abdelkarim who has a PhD in Engineering from Loughborough University.

Aston University is represented by Dr John Brammer, a specialist in heat transfer and computational modelling.

A laboratory has been built at the Company and with this facility MWC will develop a new generation of heat transfer enhancement technology and associated design tools to meet the needs of customers both now and in the future.

The company have been manufacturing innovative spiral wound wire turbulators since 1968 and heat transfer sales have grown steadily over the years and these new developments will play their part in continuing this growth.
Midland Wire Cordage Co Ltd (MWC) was founded in 1875 to manufacture high quality wire ropes in galvanised steel, stainless steel, etc. The Company is renowned for the quality and expertise that can be offered to customers having a complete bespoke requirement.
